Mr. Seth Lange
4-5 Grade

Hello! My name is Seth Lange (Mr. Lange). I was born in Neillsville, Wisconsin. While there, I attended St. John’s Lutheran School. When I was 8 years old, my family and I moved to Burlington, Wisconsin. While I was there, I attended and was confirmed at St. John’s. After grade school, I attended Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, Wisconsin where I stayed in the dorms. This is also where I met my wife, Chandra, but I will get to that more later. After my freshman year, my family moved to New Ulm, Minnesota. I continued my education and graduated from Luther Preparatory School in 2012. After I graduated from LPS, I attended Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. Even though I was close to home, I still stayed in the dorms all 4 years. After my second year at MLC, my parents moved to Bowling Green, Ohio; however, stayed in New Ulm year-round until I graduated.

During my senior year at MLC, I student taught for 10 weeks at St. John’s in Wrightstown, Wisconsin. While I was there, I taught grades 4-8. After my private school student teaching, I taught for 5 weeks at the middle school in New Ulm. While I was there, I had 60 6th graders for math and history.

After finishing student teaching at MLC, I graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. My first assignment was a 1-year assignment to Jenera, Ohio. (1 year because I was getting married the next summer and Chandra still had to finish another 2 years at MLC) While I was in Jenera, I was blessed with eight 3rd and 4th graders.

After teaching for a year in Jenera, I was put back on the assignment list. I was a category 4 which meant that I could teach anywhere in the New Ulm, Minnesota area only, since Chandra and I would be married by next school year. Unfortunately, I did not get assigned on assignment day as there was nothing open in the New Ulm area.

After my time in Jenera, I moved back to New Ulm. On July 29, 2017, Chandra and I got married in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We then both lived in New Ulm. The week before our wedding, I received a phone call from the District President in Minnesota asking if I would be willing to teach preschool and kindergarten for another 1-year assignment in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. After much prayer and consideration, I accepted the position and taught for 1 year at St. John’s in Sleepy Eye.

Following the school year, Chandra and I were then both put on the assignment list. We were both excited to hear that our assignment together would be to Prince of Peace. I continually am thankful for this position the Lord has blessed me with.

I am a sports fanatic. On top of watching sports (mainly Packers), I enjoy playing tennis, disc golf, basketball, and golfing. I also enjoy spending time with our puppy, Diamond. I enjoy riding my dirt bike when I get the opportunity. I enjoy doing lots of hiking here in Utah. My favorite Bible passage is 2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we live by faith, not by sight.”
